Join us for our 2nd annual "After Hours at the Faboratory" event at NRCA's office space above the train station.

This year, we present spoken word artist Christian Morant, who will perform an engaging and self-affirming set of his original pieces. Then, hear the debut performance of the SCF Trio (featuring NewRo guitarist Dave Knife Fabris) who, after their own set of engaging instrumental music, will accompany Mr. Morant with an improvised collaboration as their encore!

From the TEDx stage to appearing on Druski’s Auditions, Christian Morant is a renowned poet, filmmaker, author of GROWTH, and illustrator of the children's book I Belong!. His breakthrough single SNAPPIN' is a juxtaposition to his album I Am Not A Rapper and, most notably, he is responsible for bringing NYC's finest artists together in his original productions of STAGE PRESENCE and WHAT IF. christianmorant.com IG @christian.morant

The SCF Trio is a new musical brainchild of Blue Man Group bassist Tom Shad, percussionist Navy Band Veteran Raymond Carega and avant guitarist Dave Knife Fabris. The three have developed a recent chemistry improvising and performing their own compositions together. We are happy to have them at ArtsFest for their debut performance! FREE EVENT!

November’s event is a scientific reference — to two of the six types of quarks (up, down, top, bottom, charm, strange) that never stand alone in nature. Yet, “charmed and strange crossings” seems to also apply to so many of our everyday experiences. From motherhood to grief, shadows and time to prayer, NewGal’s 27th season opener relishes in the cosmic of the everyday.
